Matt Reed

History

As a baby Matt was born in West Virginia. Shortly after, he was transported to K-town, TN where he grew up listening to Def Leppard and Eazy-E, longing to be a fighter pilot. He once told his 3rd grade teacher he found a new way to do subtraction. She said, "No, you can’t do it that way" so he walked out of class never to return. From that point forward Matt questioned everything. He knew he loved his NES and rolled deep on a 286 powered by GEOS and Prodigy.

In his later years he showed up to college and tried out for computer science but failed poorly. This was nothing more than a speed lump in his quest for creative enlightenment. This drive drove him all the way across campus to the Art building where he found his way in Graphic Design. Happily he graduated and moved to Nashville, married his awesome wife, and had the privilege of helping build a web design company from the spare bedroom of an apartment into a 12 person super-crew powerhouse. He now resides as a professional internetologist exploring the human potential of technology at redpepper.

HTML6 is like money from the future

Did you ever see Back to the Future part II? Of course you did, trick question! Ok, so remember when old Biff from the future gave the Sports Almanac to little Biff from the past? Well, that’s what I’m doing to you right now! I’m old Biff and you’re little Biff in this particular instance.

Anonymous asked: Hey Matt, how can I use my Facebook page to make more money?

Hey buddy, well first off let me say you are TOTALLY on track with your idea to make money from your Facebook page. Facebook obviously has all the people in the world on it so if you add up all their money that’s gonna be a lot of money you can make on them.

The first thing I would do would be to probably write something on your wall like, “Hey welcome to my facebook page.” Doing that gets people’s attention and makes them feel welcome to be there. That puts them in the right mindset to start giving you money.

The next thing I would do is post something like, “Hey, you should like my page.” People liking your page is obviously something that needs to happen before they give you money. People don’t give money to people they don’t like.

After that just post something like, “Hey, the 10,000th person to comment on this post gets a free popsicle” When you do that everybody is gonna start leaving awesome comments that makes them engaged. Those comments show up to their friends exposing your page to even more people! It’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen and it’s all thanks to Facebook’s social media.

Then, when you have probably a million page fans you can just direct them to do things. Sales a little slow? Post “Hey fans, go shopping at our store today because it’s a pretty day.” BOOM!!! That’s at least $1.5 MILLI in the bank just from that one wall post!!!

Once you get better at posting to your wall you can try some advanced maneuvers like, “You are the best customers in the world and to reward you we want you to mail us $1000 a piece and we’ll enter you in a drawing to win a snickers ice cream bar every day for a weekend.”

There you go! Best of luck rocking out your awesome facebook page!
