Matt Reed

History

As a baby Matt was born in West Virginia. Shortly after, he was transported to K-town, TN where he grew up listening to Def Leppard and Eazy-E, longing to be a fighter pilot. He once told his 3rd grade teacher he found a new way to do subtraction. She said, "No, you can’t do it that way" so he walked out of class never to return. From that point forward Matt questioned everything. He knew he loved his NES and rolled deep on a 286 powered by GEOS and Prodigy.

In his later years he showed up to college and tried out for computer science but failed poorly. This was nothing more than a speed lump in his quest for creative enlightenment. This drive drove him all the way across campus to the Art building where he found his way in Graphic Design. Happily he graduated and moved to Nashville, married his awesome wife, and had the privilege of helping build a web design company from the spare bedroom of an apartment into a 12 person super-crew powerhouse. He now resides as a professional internetologist exploring the human potential of technology at redpepper.

Is there more? Well, yes, there is this whole paragraph. Now, look at my social media networks! Did you see what I just did? You can't not look now! I also made a page on LinkedIn but it doesn’t matter because I'm not leaving redpepper.

Make your content go Viral Part 1

Do you ever wonder how all those people make it to the front page of reddit and digg and cnn and mashable? Well, it’s of course because of their popular content. Now, you may be wondering how their content became so popular in the first place? This is a tip that only true underground internet winners know of and I’m going to share Part 1 of that secret with you today.

Part 1 is of course Twitter. Hey there! Wait up! It’s not that easy as just posting things to Twitter. It’s all about how many people retweet your content. THIS IS KEY! Getting lots of retweets is a must. Twitter added retweets yesterday and man are they powerful. If you’re not getting your content retweeted your content is never gonna show up anywhere! Not even on Excite.

So how do you get lots of retweets? What I do is make lots of Twitter accounts and that’s what you should do too. By lots I mean probably somewhere in the 5000 range. If you think you might have trouble keeping up with this many accounts you won’t. See my previous tip on social media overload.

Step 1: Log in to one of your twitter accounts and post your content you want to go viral to it.

Step 2: Use your other 4999 accounts to retweet that message.

Step 3: Go to the major websites like reddit and digg and cnn and mashable and you will most likely see your post showing up all over them.
